Verizon works with ID.me to help first responders, members of the military community, nurses, students, and teachers get discounts. This article explains how to verify your status to access exclusive offers from Verizon.
Eligibility
The following communities are eligible for the Verizon discount:
First responders
Law enforcement officers, firefighters, emergency medical technicians, and 911 dispatchers (for select offers only)
Military
- Branches: Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, Navy, National Guard, NOAA, Space Force, US Public Health
- Status: Active duty service members, reservists, retirees, gold star spouses, military spouses, military family, veterans
The following military communities are not eligible:
- Civilian employees
- Service members serving in a non-U.S. military
- Service members not listed above (e.g. Coast Guard Auxiliary)
- Veterans with less than honorable discharge
Nurses

1. Verify your community
To access the Verizon discount, you must create an ID.me account and verify for one of the following communities:
- Military - Learn what military discounts are available for Verizon wireless.
- First responders
- Teachers
- Nurses
- Students
If you’ve already verified for a community, go to Get the offer for next steps.
2. Get the offer
After you have verified your community status with ID.me, use your ID.me account to get your discount.
To claim your offer from the ID.me Shop:
- Go to the Verizon Wireless page, or the Verizon FIOS page, on ID.me Shop.
- Select Shop Now or Unlock to save to verify (military, first responder, nurse, student, or teacher).
- Stay on the page and wait to be automatically redirected to the Verizon website. From there, you can register your Verizon account for the discount or shop for a new device or service.

You can also claim your offer directly from the Verizon site. Start by going to the Verizon site, adding your purchase to your cart, and select Verify with ID.me. To claim your offer:
- Shop as you normally would. During checkout, select Those who serve, save more and you’ll see more information about the discount.
- Select Verify with ID.me.
- Sign in to your ID.me account. If you don’t have an account, select Create an ID.me account, enter your email address and password, then select Create account. You’ll be automatically directed to verify your status.
- Select Begin and follow the prompts. You may be prompted to upload a document to prove your community status.
- After you are verified, stay on the page and wait to be automatically redirected to the Verizon website.
- Continue with your checkout. Your discount will be applied to your bill.
FAQ
Can I combine discounts?
No. You can only take advantage of one discount at a time. Visit Verizon's Corporate Employee Discounts FAQs for information that can help you choose your best option.
Keep in mind:
- Active duty military and veterans get unique discounts on unlimited data plans. Standard employer (non-military) discount agreements don't give discounts on unlimited data plan fees.
- If you decide you want the other type of discount, you can switch your choice any time by re-registering on our Discounts by Verizon program page.
Can I check to make sure the discount was applied?

Can I get a military discount on Verizon Fios Home Internet service?

Can Gold Star spouses receive the discount?

Can military spouses receive the discount?
Yes. To register and validate military service, the person applying for the discount must be both:
- The spouse of any Service Member, Veteran, or Retiree—including Surviving Spouses who can verify as a Military Spouse, and
- The Verizon Wireless Account Owner or Account Manager.
