ID.me has entered a partnership with the New York State Department of Labor (NYS DOL) to verify your identity.
Tips and best practices for selecting and uploading acceptable identity documents.
First Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) claim?
Steps to verify your identity:
1. Visit the website mentioned in the message, then select the green Verify with ID.me button to begin the identity verification process. |

2. Sign in to your existing ID.me account, or create a new one.Please make sure you use the same email address that you used when registering with the NYS DOL. If you have previously created an ID.me account with a different email address, do not create a new one. Please sign in to your existing account and update your email address. |

3. Confirm your email address.

4. Select a multi-factor authentication option. |
|
|
5. Verify your identity.Select Driver’s License, State ID, Passport, or Passport Card. You can take a photo with your mobile device or upload from your computer. |

|
6. If you chose to take a photo with your device, follow the onscreen prompts.You'll be asked to input your phone number. ID.me will send you a text message with a link to your smartphone to take photos of your ID. |

7. When prompted, take and submit a selfie. |
|
|
8. Enter all other requested information, including your Social Security number. |
|
|
9. Review and confirm your information and select Yes.
|

What's Next
After identity verification is successful, your screen will look like the one below.
No additional steps are required. PUA payments will be processed in 10-14 days. If there are any eligibility issues, NYS DOL will contact you. For more information, please contact NYS DOL.
