If you received a notice from the Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES), you have two options to verify your identity with ID.me. Select one of the following:

Steps to verify your identity using ID.me and file your weekly certification:
1. Log in to AZUI.com. |

2. Select the Weekly UI Claims button, then select the File a Weekly Claim button. |

3. Enter your Social Security number, then you will be provided instructions to verify your identity |

4. You will be directed to the ID.me sign-in page.You can sign in to your existing ID.me account, or create a new one. If you have previously created an ID.me account with a different email address, do not create a new one. Please sign in to your existing account and update your email address. Learn more about why you can’t have more than one account.

5. Confirm your email address. |

6. Select a multi-factor authentication option. |

7. Verify your identity.Answer questions about your credit history or verify your identity with a driver’s license, state ID, passport, or passport card. You can take a photo with your mobile device or upload from your computer. |

8. If you chose to take a photo with your device, follow the onscreen prompts.You'll be asked to input your phone number. ID.me will send you a text message with a link to your smartphone to take photos of your ID. Learn how to verify your identity without a smartphone. |

9. Enter all other requested information, including your Social Security number. |
|

10. Review and confirm to make sure all your information is accurate.Then select Yes at the bottom of the screen. After ID.me verifies your identity, you will receive a confirmation text message as a way to protect you from fraud. |

11. At the end of the process, be sure to select Allow and continue.This step shares your identity information with DES.

Steps to verify your identity without filing a weekly certification online:

Visit the website (URL) provided in the email.

Once you reach the website, select the green Verify with ID.me button to start the verification process.

Confirm your email address.

Select and set up the multi-factor authentication option of your choice.

Next, either answer questions about your credit history or verify your identity with a driver’s license, state ID, passport, or passport card.

Enter all other requested information, including your Social Security number.

At the end of the process, be sure to select Allow and continue. This step shares your identity information with DES.
Trusted Referee
If you are not able to complete the verification process due to an issue with your documentation, you will be routed to verify your identity over a video call with a Trusted Referee. Wait times may vary. You will need to show your identity documents to a Trusted Referee along with a selfie (a photo of yourself) to complete your verification.
Steps to continue with your claim after you've completed your verification with a Trusted Referee:

Return to the Arizona DES site.

Log in to your agency account.

Provide your ID.me credentials when prompted.

Follow the steps for Arizona DES, then select to Allow them to use your verified identity information.
After you have verified your identity, either online or with the help of an ID.me Trusted Referee, you should continue filing your weekly certification for unemployment insurance.
