The Delaware Department of Labor (Delaware DOL) works with ID.me to create a highly secure identity verification process that ensures you, and only you, will be able to access your benefits. You will start the process by calling Delaware DOL through their Telebenefits process, then select the link in the text message you are sent. From there, you can start the verification process.
ID.me’s role in this partnership is exclusively regarding identity verification. ID.me does not approve unemployment claims or distribute funds to claimants. This article explains how to verify with ID.me for Delaware DOL.
How to verify
To verify your identity using ID.me and file your weekly unemployment claims through DE DOL’s Telebenefits:
1. Call Delaware DOL
To begin, call either 800-794-3032 or 302-761-6576. Based on your prompts and selections you may receive a link in a text message sent by Delaware DOL. Select the link in the text message to begin the verification process.
2. Verify your identity
You can use Self-Service or a short video call to verify your identity for the Delaware DOL. For steps to verify your identity, visit Verifying for state benefits and services on a short video call.
If you can’t complete the verification process due to an issue with your documents, you will be routed to upload additional documents and complete your verification over an extended video call.
After you verify
After verifying your identity, select Allow to share your information with the Delaware DOL. You will be guided, via the Telebenefits prompts over the phone, through the next steps.
