What is ID.me?

ID.me is an online identity network that enables end users to prove their legal identity and attributes of their identity via a single login in exchange for discounts from brands and access to sensitive personal information from the federal government.  Your ID.me account consists of the e-mail and password you choose when registering. You can verify your identity as well as group affiliations–such as military, teacher, first responder, student– by attaching your verified credentials to your ID.me account so that you instantly gain access to special ID.me partner benefits meant only for you, just by signing in to your ID.me account. If you aren’t a part of an ID.me affinity group, you can simply shop from 3000+ offers for greater cash back rewards.

In addition, ID.me is one of only four companies accredited by the federal government at the highest level possible for a remote identity provider.  To view our certification status, visit the FICAM List of Approved Identity Services and scroll down to "Level of Assurance (LOA) 3".  Further, the White House has encouraged adoption of Troop ID (ID.me) and is applauding business that use this kind of technology.  Their blog post can be viewed by clicking here.  Lastly, you can read more about the benefits and security that ID.me provides as it relates to identity management as well as the NSTIC Identity Management Pilot we are involved in by visiting the NSTIC website.
