Troubleshoot military verification
I can’t confirm my .mil email address
For troubleshooting steps to confirm your email, visit Confirming your email address. If you still can’t confirm your .mil email, verify using a military document instead.
I need to change my military subgroup
If you verified for the wrong military subgroup, you can reverify to change your subgroup. For example, you may have initially verified as a veteran but meant to verify as a service member. To reverify:
- Sign in to your ID.me account.
- Select Manage IDs, then select your military card.
- Select Reverify ID. You will be directed to the screen to start the verification process.
- Follow the prompts to verify. For steps to complete the re-verification, go Get started above.
After changing your sub-community, your new card will display in your ID.me Wallet. Below is an example of a Military card showing a verified veteran sub-community.
