This article explains how to verify your teacher status to access exclusive nurse discounts in ID.me Shop.
Eligibility
You must be a current educator. For specific education job titles that are eligible, visit Teacher eligibility.
What you’ll need
You can verify using your state license or by uploading a document. The document you’ll need depends on your job title. For a list of acceptable documents, visit Teacher documents.
1. Get started
To get started:
- Go to the U.S. Teachers Discounts or Canadian Teacher Discounts.
- Browse the available discounts.
- Select the offer you’d like to get. You'll be redirected to the retailer’s website.

Select the ID.me button
The ID.me button most often displays at checkout. You may also need to specify that you are verifying as a teacher. You'll be redirected to the ID.me sign-in page.
2. Verify as a teacher
To verify your teacher status:
- Sign in to your existing ID.me account or create a new account.
- Select I am licensed by my state, or select I do not have my state license number to verify by uploading documentation.
- In the drop-down menu, select the state where you are an educator.
- Select Begin and follow the prompts to enter your personal and teacher information.
If you choose to upload documents, make sure to use a document that is acceptable for your job title or position. - After your verification is accepted, select Allow to share your information with the retailer.
Troubleshoot teacher verification
I need to change my teacher subgroup
If you verified for the wrong teacher subgroup, you can reverify to change your subgroup. To reverify:
- Sign in to your ID.me account.
- Select Manage IDs, then select your teacher card.
- Select Reverify ID. You will be directed to the screen to start the verification process.
- Follow the prompts to verify. For steps to complete the re-verification, go to Get started above.
After changing your sub-community, your new card will display in your ID.me Wallet.
