The first time you access an application on the California DMV website ID.me will inform you of which pieces of your data California DMV will receive. We will then ask you to give your consent to share that data before you start your application.
ID.me limits the information its partner websites can request to fields that are directly associated with your status. The “Authorize California DMV” screen will show you the information that California DMV will receive.
You decide whether or not you wish to release that information, or to keep it private. If you decide to keep your information private from California DMV you will not be able to complete your application online.
You can revoke California DMV’s access to your information at any time within your ID.me account.
