ID.me requires each user to confirm their email address. Confirming your email address certifies that you are the owner of the email address you provided during the sign-up process.
You will need to create an ID.me account using an email address that you have immediate access to because you will be sent a confirmation email at that email address. Otherwise, you will not be able to complete the confirmation process.
After completing the initial ID.me sign-up screen you will see the following screen:
Keep this window open.
Please check your inbox and find the confirmation email we've sent you.
This email's subject line will read, "ID.me - Please Confirm Your Email." If you cannot find the email within your Inbox, please check your Spam folder. It can take up to 10 minutes to receive this email.
Open the email and click the "Confirm your email" button OR copy and paste the 6-digit code provided in the email to confirm your email address.
If you choose to copy and paste the code you will need to return to the ID.me window and paste (or manually enter) the code into the box provided.
After successfully confirming your email address your initial ID.me registration will be complete. You will then be prompted to verify your identity.
