Trusted Referee
If you are not able to complete the verification process due to an issue with your documentation, you will be routed to verify your identity over a video call with a Trusted Referee. Wait times may vary. You will need to show your identity documents to a Trusted Referee along with a selfie (a photo of yourself) to complete your verification.
After you've completed your verification with a Trusted Referee, follow the steps below to continue with your claim:
-
Return to the Indiana DWD site.
-
Log in to your DWD account.
-
Provide your ID.me credentials when prompted.
-
Follow the steps for Indiana DWD, then select to Allow them to use your verified identity information.
What's Next
When you complete your identity verification, your next step is to return to the DWD UpLink Portal, and continue your claim.
- If you completed identity verification by yourself (i.e. without a video call with a Trusted Referee), you will be redirected automatically. Log on to your UpLink account.
- If you verified your identity with the help of a Trusted Referee, you must return to the UpLink Portal yourself. In your to-do list, look for the 'verify your identity' task and follow the prompts.
Provide your ID.me credentials when prompted, and be sure to click Allow. This action shares your identity information with the state and enables the claim process to continue.
Once your identity has been successfully verified online and matches the records on file at Indiana DWD, Indiana DWD can move forward with any other issues that may be holding up benefits.
Continue to check your Uplink account regularly for the most current status. Please visit unemployment.in.gov to log into your account.
