Yes. To be able to register and validate military service the person applying for the discount must be both*:
- The spouse of any Service Member, Veteran, or Retiree—including Surviving Spouses who can verify as a Military Spouse, and
- The Verizon Wireless Account Owner or Account Manager.
If the account is in the name of your family member or friend, complete a Transfer of Service before registering for the discount. Find out more about changing the account to your name on our Transfer Your Service Support page.
*Exception: Gold Star family members.
