ID.me has entered a partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry (Pennsylvania DLI) to facilitate Unemployment Compensation (UC).
The window to verify your identity with Pennsylvania DL & I for Pandemic Unemployment Assistance has closed. If you did not verify your identity or require additional assistance about next steps, please contact Pennsylvania DL&I directly.
Steps to verify for a weekly claim for UI benefits from a desktop:
1. Visit the Pennsylvania DLI site and select Sign In/Register. |

2. Sign in with an existing Keystone ID or select Register Now to create a new account. |

3. Confirm your information and, when prompted, select the green Verify with ID.me button. |

4. If you already have an ID.me account, sign in using your existing credentials—do not create a new account.

5. Confirm your email address. |

6. Select the multi-factor authentication option (MFA) of your choice.You can receive a passcode via text message or phone call. You may use your smartphone or a home phone to set up this MFA sign-in method. You can also choose one of the other listed methods that use a phone app or physical key fob to securely send the passcode. |

7. Next, either answer questions about your credit history or verify your identity with a Driver’s license, State ID, Passport, or Passport Card. |

8. When prompted, take and submit a selfie. |

9. Enter your Social Security number. |

10. Review and confirm to make sure all your information is accurate. Then select Yes at the bottom of the screen.After ID.me verifies your identity, you will receive a confirmation text message as a way to protect you from fraud. |

You will then be redirected back to Pennsylvania DLI to finish your new claim. Some fields will be filled in based on your verified identity information so make sure to review and confirm all the information is correct.
Trusted Referee
If you are not able to complete the verification process due to an issue with your documentation, you will be routed to verify your identity over a video call with a Trusted Referee. Wait times may vary. You will need to show your identity documents to a Trusted Referee along with a selfie (a photo of yourself) to complete your verification.
After you've completed your verification with a Trusted Referee, follow the steps below to continue with your claim:
- Return to the Pennsylvania DLI site.
- Log in to your existing Pennsylvania account.
- Follow the steps for filing a claim and when prompted, select the green Verify with ID.me button.
- Sign into your existing ID.me account.
- Select Allow to use your verified information at Pennsylvania and be redirected back.
- Finalize and submit your new claim.
