ID.me has partnered with the California Employment Development Department (EDD) to help verify your identity for State Disability Insurance (SDI). To verify your status, you should have received an email from California EDD asking you to verify your identity with ID.me; press the URL in the email and follow the steps below.
The verification process will take approximately 5-10 minutes, plus the wait time for the next available video chat agent. You will need two primary documents or one primary document and two secondary documents. No biometric data will be collected in this option.

Verify your identity with a Video Call
Once you are signed in to your ID.me account, you can verify your identity with a video selfie, or over a video call with a live agent. Follow the steps to verify your identity with a Video Chat Agent. How do I verify my identity with a video selfie? |

What happens next?
After you have verified your identity, you will receive another email from the EDD with instructions on any further actions needed to validate your Disability Insurance (DI) claim.
