Want to earn cash back or unlock military and community discounts while you shop online? Learn how to use the ID.me Chrome extension to find discounts and earn cash back as you shop online. This article walks you through installing the extension and using it to save money at top retailers.

Availability 

The ID.me Shop browser extension is only available for Chrome on desktop. It is not a mobile app and won't appear in your app store.

Install the ID.me Chrome extension

1. Go to the ID.me Shop extension in Chrome’s web store.
2. Select Add to Chrome.
3. As you visit websites the extension will notify you if that site has ID.me Shop discounts or cash back. Below are examples of what displays:
    
4. Claim discounts: When prompted, select the discount in the browser extension to apply it.

Use the extension to claim discounts

You may be prompted to sign in to your ID.me account before or after checkout:

Before checkout

1. Select the offer in the extension pop-up to go to the brand’s landing page.
2. Select Verify with ID.me.
3. Sign in to your ID.me account and follow the prompts to verify for your community, if needed.
4. Add products to your cart and proceed to checkout. The discount will apply automatically.

During checkout

1. Select the offer in the extension pop-up to be directed to the brand’s site.
2. Add items to your cart and go to checkout.
3. On the checkout page, select Verify with ID.me.
4. Follow the prompts to sign in and verify for your community if needed.
5. The discount will apply automatically once redirected back to checkout.

Activate and earn cash back

To activate cash back:

1. Select Activate Cash Back or a desired offer in the extension pop-up.
2. Shop and check out on the brand’s site as usual. Cash back will be applied automatically.

Hide discount and cash back pop-ups

When you visit a website that has an ID.me discount or cash back, a pop-up automatically displays in your browser. You can hide these pop-ups if you don’t want to see them for a while.

To hide the pop-up:

• Choose Hide for 30 minutes to pause it temporarily.
• Choose Hide for this visit to keep it hidden until you leave the site.
• Choose Hide for 7 days to stop seeing pop-ups for a week.
• Select X in the top corner of the pop-up to minimize it into a green ID.me button on the website. Select the ID.me button anytime to see the full details again.

After the selected time ends, pop-ups will automatically display again when you visit participating sites.

Remove the ID.me Chrome extension

To stop using the extension, remove it from your browser via Chrome settings.
