To verify your teacher status you may use your state license or upload a document. This article explains what documents are acceptable to verify your teacher status.
School staff or teacher ID card
- Name: Must include at least one full name and one initial (e.g., John Doe, J. Doe, John D.).
- Must state an acceptable position (e.g., Teacher, Principal).
- Issued date: Must be within the last 4 years.
- School term: Valid through the end of the year on your ID (e.g., 2021-2022 IDs are valid until December 31, 2022).

- Website URL: Must be visible.

- Position: Must state an acceptable position.
Teaching certificate
- Name: Full name must match the name you enter.
- Title: Must state an acceptable position.
- Dates: Expired documents are not acceptable.
Employment contract
- Name: Full name must match the name you enter.
- Position: Must state an acceptable position
- Dates: Must be dated within the last 4 years. Future start dates within 30 days are acceptable.
- Signatures: Must be signed by an administrator (digital fonts and signatures are acceptable).
- Letterhead: Must be on official letterhead.
Verification letter
- Name: Full name must match the name you enter.
- Position: Must state an acceptable position.
- Dates: Must be dated within the last 4 years.
- Signatures: Must be signed by an administrator (digital fonts and signatures are acceptable).
- Letterhead: Must be on official letterhead.
Paystub or W-2
- Name: First and last names must match the name you enter.
- Position: Must state an acceptable position
- Pay date: Must be within the last 4 years.
Canadian teachers
Canadian teachers can use the following documents:
- School staff or teacher ID card

The criteria for each of those documents is the same criteria as teachers in the U.S.
