ID.me works with select state workforce agencies to provide in-person verification (IPV). This verification method gives you another way to verify, in addition to self-service and video calls.
For IPV, you’ll begin the verification process by booking an appointment. After you book an appointment, you’ll take your identity documents and “Registration Code” to an Identity Network Location on the day and time of your appointment or at your convenience, if you chose the walk-in option. This article gives an overview of the IPV process.
Book an IPV appointment
To schedule an IPV appointment, sign in to your state portal with your ID.me account or create a new account. When you book an IPV appointment, you’ll get a Registration Code that you’ll use when you go to your appointment. To get started, visit Booking an IPV appointment.
Documents to verify
When verifying your identity in person, you’ll need to bring your identity documents with you. To find a list of documents you’ll need, visit Documents for in-person verification (IPV).
