This article explains how to verify your student status to access exclusive discounts in ID.me Shop.
Eligibility
- Be actively enrolled in an accredited, government-recognized public or private university or college that grants degrees or certificates in the US or Canada. This includes college, university, community college, junior college, vocational, and technical students.
- Be 18 years of age or older.
Ineligible students
The following students are not eligible for student discounts:
- Anyone under the age of 18
- High school students
- GED recipients
- ROTC members
- U.S. citizens studying abroad
1. Get started
To get started:
- Go to the U.S. Students Discounts or Canadian Student Discounts.
- Browse the available discounts.
- Select the offer you’d like to get. You'll be redirected to the retailer’s website.

Select the ID.me button
The ID.me button most often displays at checkout. You may also need to specify that you are verifying your student status. You'll be redirected to the ID.me sign-in page.
2. Verify as student
To verify your student status:
- Sign in to your existing ID.me account or create a new account.
- Select Begin.
- Enter your school name and personal information to confirm your school enrollment.
Note: If your college or university isn’t listed, select the school that most closely matches the name of the school you attend, provide your personal information, then upload your documents. - To upload your documents, choose the document type you’d like to use and upload the corresponding acceptable student document. Uploading documents is only required if we can’t find your information in the national database we use.
- After your verification is accepted, select Allow to share your information with the retailer.
Troubleshoot student verification
My school isn’t listed
If your school isn’t listed, select the school that most closely matches your institution. You’ll still be able to upload documents to verify your enrollment.
