Confirm your verification was successful
Before contacting the retailer, confirm that your community verification was successful, and that you shared your information with them:
- Go to the ID.me sign in page and sign in to your account.
- Select Manage IDs and look to see if the community you tried to verify for displays under “Active IDs”. For example, look for a card that says Alumni, Employee, First Responder, Hospital Employee, Medical Provider, Military, Nurse, Student, or Teacher.
Keep in mind:
- If a community card isn’t displayed, your verification wasn’t successful. Follow the steps in Verifying for a community to retry the verification process.
- If your card displays under “Expired IDs”, you must reverify your community card.
Confirm you shared your information
When verifying your community status, you’ll need to share your information with the retailer. To confirm this:
- Visit Managing the information you shared with an organization.
- Look for the following details:
- Website name: The name of the retailer you shared your information with.
- Authorized: The date and time you shared your information.
Contact retailers or brands
If you've confirmed your verification and shared your information but still have questions or issues, contact the retailer directly through their Contact Support page.
When contacting retailers:
- Mention which community and sub-community you verified for (e.g., classroom teacher, military service member).
- Specify the offer you’re trying to redeem (e.g., 20% discount).
- Include the product you want to purchase and whether it might be excluded from the offer.
- Describe any errors or issues you saw.
