You may be required to upgrade your ID.me account the next time you sign in to access a U.S. Department of Treasury application. To upgrade, you need to submit a video selfie.

To upgrade your account, you need a mobile phone that has a camera or a computer with a webcam.

Upgrade your ID.me account

To upgrade your account:

1. Go to the login page for the Treasury application you need to access.
2. Select the ID.me button to sign in with ID.me, then complete sign in using multi-factor authentication (MFA).
3. When prompted, take and submit a video selfie using our selfie best practices.
4. After your selfie is accepted, select Allow to consent to share your information with the U.S. Department of the Treasury. After that, you can access the specific Treasury application.

Troubleshooting

If you submit a video selfie several time and it’s not accepted, you will be routed to verify your identity on a short video call.
