After you verify your identity, a digital identity card is added to your ID.me account. The next time you sign in with ID.me to access a website or organization, you can simply sign in without having to verify your identity.
Access an organization
To access an organization:
- Go to the website of the organization you need to access.
- Select the ID.me button.
Tip: If you can't find the ID.me button, visit ID.me Government for government agencies or ID.me Shop for brands. For additional help, contact the organization you need to access. - Sign in to your ID.me account.
- Follow the prompts to complete MFA if it’s enabled.
- Review and share your information
- Review the information that will be shared with the organization.
- Select Allow to give ID.me consent to share your information. You will receive a text message from ID.me confirming that you used your account to access an organization.
Note: You only need to share your information the first time you access the organization’s site. After that, you can simply sign in.

If the organization you are accessing requires a higher verification level than what you have, you will need to provide additional information. Follow the prompts to complete the necessary verification steps.
