Medical providers and healthcare workers can verify their identity with ID.me to unlock exclusive discounts on popular brands. This article walks you through the process—whether you have an NPI, MINC, or just a valid medical license—so you can quickly claim your offer.

Who qualifies for medical discounts

Documents to verify medical status
Tip: Your document must include your first and last name and your job title.
To verify your medical status, you’ll need to have an eligible job title and one of the following documents:
- Employment ID card
- Medical license or certificate
- Employment letter signed by an administrator, on official letterhead
1. Documents to verify medical status
To get started:
- Go to the U.S. Medical Discounts or Canadian Medical Discounts.
- Browse the available discounts.
- Select the offer you’d like to get. You'll be redirected to the retailer’s website.

Select the ID.me button
The ID.me button most often displays at checkout. You may also need to specify that you are verifying as a medical professional. You'll be redirected to the ID.me sign-in page.
2. Verify your medical status
To verify your medical status:
- Sign in to your existing ID.me account or create a new account.
- For U.S. medical providers:
- If you have an NPI, select Verify as a medical provider.
- If you don’t have an NPI, select Upload a Medical Document.
For Canadian medical providers, skip to the next step.
- Select Begin.
- Enter your personal information. If you selected Verify as a Medical Provider, follow one of the options below. Otherwise, select Continue.
- NPI: From the “Provider Type” drop-down menu, select your occupation, then enter your NPI number. Review your information, and if everything is correct, select Continue.
- No NPI number: From the “Provider Type” dropdown, select your occupation, check the I do not have an NPI number box, then select Continue.
- Medical Identification Number (MINC): For Canadian doctors, enter your MINC and select which province you live in.
- Follow the prompts to upload your document (if required), then select Continue to submit your document.
- After your verification is accepted, select Allow to share your information with the retailer.
