This article explains how to verify your medical status to access exclusive discounts in ID.me Shop. A National Provider Identifier (NPI) can be used—but is not required—to verify as part of this community.

What you’ll need
Acceptable documents
The following documents are acceptable for medical verification:
- Nursing License: A valid nursing license.
- ID Card: Your ID card must be current and not expired.
- Pay stub: Your pay stub must state your nursing position and be dated within the last year.

Employment Letter: The letter must state your position as one of the following:
- Registered Nurse
- Licensed Practical Nurse
- Nurse Practitioner
- Nurse Anesthetist
- Nursing Assistant
- Other certified nursing position
Document requirements
Your document must include:
- Your full or partial name must be visible.
- Your nursing job title must be clearly stated.
1. Get started
To get started:
- Go to the U.S. Medical Discounts & Deals or Canadian Medical Discounts.
- Browse the available discounts.
- Select the offer you’d like to get. You'll be redirected to the retailer’s website.

Select the ID.me button
The ID.me button most often displays at checkout. You may also need to specify that you are verifying as a medical professional. You'll be redirected to the ID.me sign-in page.
2. Verify as a medical professional
To verify your medical status:
- Sign in to your existing ID.me account or create a new account.
- For U.S. medical providers:
- Select Verify as a medical provider to use your NPI.
- If you don’t have an NPI, select Upload a Medical Document.
- For Canadian medical providers, skip to the next step.
- Select Begin.
- The information you enter depends on how you verify:
- NPI: Enter your personal information, select your “Provider Type”, and enter your NPI number. Review your information, and if everything is correct, select Continue.
- No NPI number: From the “Provider Type” drop-down menu, select Nurse, select I do not have an NPI number, then select Continue. Choose the state you’re licensed in and enter your nurse license number. You may be prompted to upload documentation.
- MINC: For Canadian doctors, enter your Medical Identification Number (MINC) and select which province you live in.
- Follow the prompts to upload your document, then select Continue to submit your document.
- After your verification is accepted, select Allow to share your information with the retailer.
