After you download the ID.me Authenticator app, you can manage your app settings. This article explains how to manage your Authenticator app settings and keep your app updated.
Manage Authenticator app settings
To manage your Authenticator app settings:
- Open the ID.me Authenticator app on your device.
- Select the “≡” hamburger icon in the upper right corner to open the app’s menu.
From the menu, you can manage:
- Touch ID or Face ID - Enable or disable. With Touch ID enabled, the fingerprints registered to your device can be used to access your ID.me Authenticator.
- Dark Theme - Control the appearance of the app to a dark or light theme.
- Show Date Added - Show or hide the date you added a code generator to the app. It’s helpful to turn this on if you added more than one code generator.
- Contact ID.me Support.
- Visit the ID.me Help Center.
Find your app version
To find your ID.me Authenticator app's version number:
- Open the ID.me Authenticator app on your device.
- Select the “≡” hamburger icon in the upper right corner.
- In the menu, you will find a version number.
Update your Authenticator app
Your device may prompt you to automatically download the latest version. If it doesn’t, go to the iOS Apple App Store or Google Play Store and select Update.
Manage code generator settings
If you decide to set up MFA using the code generator, you can manage the codes directly from this app. After you open the Authenticator app, go to the “Code generator” section. From there, you can:
- View the current code to complete the sign-in process.
- Swipe left to view settings for that code.
- Select Edit - You can rename the Issuer or Account Name. Select Done to save your changes.
- Select Delete - This deletes individual codes in your code generator. We recommend only setting up one code generator on your device.
Note: We don’t recommend deleting any codes unless you set up a different multi-factor authentication method.
