Verifying as a Government Employee

To verify employment at a federal, state or local government, first visit an ID.me partner offering a "government employment” deal or discount. Once you see the option to verify with ID.me, sign in; if you've never set up an account with ID.me, select Create account. From your ID.me account, you may verify with a government email, or by submitting valid documents. Select the option that works for you, and follow the respective steps below.
Option 1) Verify with you government email address
1. Select Begin and provide your government email address.
2. Complete the form with your information. 3. Select Continue and ID.me will send a verification email with a confirmation link. Allow up to 15 minutes for this email to arrive, and be sure to check your spam or junk folders if you do not see it in your primary inbox.
4. Open the email in a new browser tab or window and select Confirm your email. You can also copy and paste the verification URL provided.
Once your email has been confirmed, your community has been verified. You may now return to access government employee discounts from participating ID.me partners.
If verification is unsuccessful, your email extension may not be in our database. Try verifying with an eligible document or contact our Member Support team for further assistance.
Option 2) Upload government documentation
1. Select Begin.
2. Complete the form with your information and select Continue.
3. Select an eligible document, upload a photo and select Continue. Eligible documents include: Employee offer or appointment letter Certificate of Employment Paystub All documents must be issued within the last year.
Once the uploaded document has been accepted, your community status is verified. You may now return to access government employee discounts from participating ID.me partners.

3. Select an eligible document, upload a photo and select Continue.
