Who qualifies for employee discounts
- Government employees: Current federal, state, or local government employees. Retired government employees and contractors are not eligible. For a list of eligible government employees, visit Who qualifies for ID.me discounts as a government, hospital, or company employee.
- Hospital employees: Current employees of U.S. hospitals or healthcare facilities.
- Participating companies: Employees of specific companies (e.g., Clarks, Volvo) are eligible for exclusive offers. Review our list of which companies participate.
Documents to verify employee status
You’ll need your work email address or valid employee documentation to verify. For a list of acceptable documents, visit What documents prove your employee status.
1. Find and select an employee discount
How you begin the verification process depends on which status you need to verify for:
Hospital or government employees
- Go to Government Employee Discounts or Hospital Employee Discounts.
- Browse the available discounts.
- Select the offer you’d like to get. You'll be redirected to the retailer’s website.

Select the ID.me button
The ID.me button most often displays at checkout. You may also need to specify that you are verifying your hospital or government employee membership. You'll be redirected to the ID.me sign-in page.
Clarks or Volvo
- Go to the Clarks ID.me Shop page or A-Plan by Volvo site.
- For Clarks, select Shop Now.
For Volvo, select Partner Company Employees & Organization or Group Members then search for and select your company name. If your company doesn’t display, contact ID.me Support. - When prompted, select Verify with ID.me. You will be directed to sign in or verify using ID.me.
2. Use your work email or upload document
To verify your employee status:
- Sign in to your existing ID.me account or create a new account.
- Choose to verify using your work email address or upload documentation. You may be prompted to select Begin.
- Follow the prompts to enter your personal and government employee information.
- Email address: Enter the email address you use for work. You will be sent a confirmation email. Select the link in the email.
- Document upload: Follow the prompts to upload your document, then select Continue to submit your document.
- After your verification is accepted, select Allow to share your information with the retailer.
Troubleshoot employee verification
Your government agency or company isn’t listed
- If the government agency you work for isn’t in the drop-down menu, select Other when prompted.
- If your company’s name isn’t in the drop-down, select I don't see my employer listed here. Enter your company’s name, work email address, then select Continue. You will receive an email when your employer has been added to our database.
