ID.me has partnered with the Job Service North Dakota (JSND) to help verify your identity for unemployment insurance (UI).
Tips and best practices for selecting and uploading acceptable identity documents.
Steps to verify your identity:
1. Visit jobsnd.com and select Unemployment For Individuals, then, select File A Claim. |

2. Sign in with your existing State of North Dakota account.If you don’t have one, select the Create Account button to create one. |
|
|
3. Follow the prompts to enter your Social Security number and date of birth. |
|
|
4. Then, select the green Verify with ID.me button to be redirected to the ID.me site. |
|
|
5. Select the green Verify with ID.me button to continue the identity verification process. |
|
|
6. Sign in to your existing ID.me account, or create a new one.If you have previously created an ID.me account with a different email address, do not create a new one. Please sign in to your existing account and update your email address. |

|
7. Confirm your email address. |
|
|
8. Select a multi-factor authentication option. |
|
|
9. Verify your identity.Select Driver’s License, State ID, Passport, or Passport Card. You can take a photo with your mobile device or upload from your computer. |
|
|
10. If you chose to take a photo with your device, follow the onscreen prompts.You'll be asked to input your phone number. ID.me will send you a text message with a link to your smartphone to take photos of your ID. Learn how to verify your identity without a smartphone. |

11. When prompted, take and submit a selfie. |
|
|
12. Enter all other requested information, including your Social Security number. |
|
|
13. Review and confirm to make sure all your information is accurate.Then select Yes at the bottom of the screen. After ID.me verifies your identity, you will receive a confirmation text message as a way to protect you from fraud. |

Trusted Referee
If you are not able to complete the verification process due to an issue with your documentation, you will be routed to verify your identity over a video call with a Trusted Referee. Wait times may vary. You will need to show your identity documents to a Trusted Referee along with a selfie (a photo of yourself) to complete your verification.
What's Next?
ID.me will notify JSND when your identity has been verified. JSND will unlock your account and you will be able to access your benefits and complete your UI requirements.
Please note, this process may take up to 48 hours to complete after ID.me has successfully verified your identity.
If ID.me has successfully verified your identity and your account remains locked, periodically check back until your account has been unlocked. You will know your account has been unlocked, when you are able to reach the UI ICE Main Menu. If it has been more than 48 hours since ID.me notified you that you were verified and your UI ICE account remains locked, call the Claim Center at 701 328-4995.
