The ID.me app lets you build your wallet, store IDs, and unlock rewards—all in one secure place. The app is available for iOS and Android. This article explains how to download, use, and troubleshoot the ID.me app.
Download the ID.me app
Download the ID.me app from the App Store or Google Play.
Tip: To complete multi-factor authentication (MFA) when signing in, use the ID.me Authenticator app — not the ID.me Wallet and Rewards app.
Add cards to your Wallet
Note: IDs and documents in your ID.me Wallet are digital versions, not replacements for your physical IDs. Keep your physical ID (license, passport, etc) with you.
You can add or remove cards from your wallet in the ID.me app.
- Open the ID.me app and sign in.
- In the Wallet tab, tap Add+
- Choose an ID, then follow the prompts to add it.
After you add an ID, you can:
- See your personal information: Tap the ID to see your information.
- Remove an ID: Tap the three dots within an ID, then select Remove.
Shop and access deals
You can browse for verified community deals and cash back from hundreds of stores directly in the app.
- Filter based on the community you’re a member of
- Browse stores and deals by category
- Search for the brands you love
- Get notified about deals that are just for you
- Tap any deal to open the store’s website in a secure browser
Troubleshoot the ID.me app
I can’t add my U.S. passport
If you’re prompted to scan your passport and it isn’t working, scan the inside back cover instead of the photo page.
The app keeps freezing
Try these steps:
- Close and reopen the app.
- Check for an update in the App Store or Google Play.
- Make sure you have a strong internet connection.
- Turn off any VPN or private relay.
- Restart your device.
- If it still won’t load, delete and reinstall it.
