Verify for NYSDOL
If you’ve never had an ID.me Wallet, you’ll create one before verifying your identity. After you create your wallet, you’ll choose how to verify:
- Self–Service: Upload your identity documents and a video selfie. This self-directed process usually takes 5-10 minutes and guides you through each step on your screen. For step-by-step instructions, visit Verifying your identity with Self-Service.
- In Person: Book an appointment and bring your identity documents and 'Registration Code' to an Identity Network Location at your scheduled time. If you choose the walk-in option, you can visit at your convenience. For step-by-step instructions, visit Verifying your identity in person.
Troubleshoot NYSDOL
I got a "Mismatched Information" error
The last step of ID.me’s verification is to grant permission to share your information with your state’s unemployment agency. When the information the unemployment agency has on file is different from the information you gave to ID.me, you may receive a “Mismatched Information” error.
The most common mismatch error is related to an email address. Make sure the primary email address on your ID.me Wallet matches the email address on your unemployment account. If needed, update your ID.me email address.
If your email address matches at both sites, you may need to update your mailing address or phone number at the state unemployment site.
To update your email address in your NYSDOL account:
- Visit New York’s Department of Labor page.
- Log in to your account.
- Select My Account Services to update your address, phone number and other information.
- If necessary, sign into your ID.me Wallet and allow consent for the changes.
