Other primary documents for identity verification

If you don’t have a common primary document, refer to this list of additional primary documents you can use to verify your identity.

Document	Requirements and tips
USCIS-issued employment authorization card	Your first and last name, date of birth, photo, and valid expiration date. Note: We don’t accept employer-issued ID cards.
Veteran Health Identification Card (VHIC)	Your first and last name, and photo. Tips: VHIC will not display on screens requiring documents that show your date of birth, as date of birth is not shown on the VHIC. After you choose a primary document that includes your date of birth, VHIC will display as an option on the next document selection screen. VHICs cannot be used as "Other government-issued photo IDs." Veterans insurance cards cannot be used.
Certificate of naturalization	Your first and last name and photo. The photo must be a recent photo of yourself. Note: We also accept forms N-550, N-560, N-561, and N-570.
National ID card	Your first and last name, date of birth, photo, and valid expiration date.
Federally recognized, Tribal-issued photo ID	Your first and last name, date of birth, photo, and valid expiration date.
DHS trusted traveler card	Your first and last name, date of birth, photo, valid expiration date, and full Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) code (the alpha-numeric code at the bottom of the photo page). Note: We accept cards issued via Global Entry, NEXUS, and SENTRI.
Prison or inmate ID	Your first and last name, date of birth, valid expiration date (if applicable), federal, state, or local issuing authority. Tips: You must upload the front and back of your ID. Parole IDs and prison release IDs are also acceptable. Color scans and PDFs are acceptable. Learn more about verifying your identity if you were previously incarcerated.
