National Practitioner Data Bank’s Report Response Service and IDMe

The National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) works with IDMe to provide authentication and identity verification through the Health and Human Services (HHS) External User Management System (XMS).

This article explains how to use IDMe to view your report online using the NPDB's Report Response Service (RRS).

Get started

How you begin depends on whether you already have an IDMe Wallet or need to create one for the first time.

Already have an IDMe Wallet?

Do not create another wallet if you already have one. Instead, you’ll need to:

  • Add your work email to your existing wallet
  • Sign in to the NPDB Data Bank Report Response Service and consent to share your verified identity information

Add your work email address

To add your work email address:

  1. Go to IDMe My Wallet and sign in.
  2. From My Wallet, select Profile, then in the Email section, select Add an email.

  3. Enter your work email address. If you want to label this email address as your work email, check the box next to "Work".
  4. Select Send confirmation. A confirmation message will be sent to your work email.

Sign in and share your information

To access NPDB:

  1. Go to the Report Response Sign-in page, then select Sign in.
  2. Sign in with your IDMe Wallet and complete multi-factor authentication (MFA).
  3. If required, follow the prompts to provide any additional information.
  4. From the Authorize screen, review the information that HHS XMS will receive, then select Allow to consent to share that information with them.
  5. Return to the NPDB's Report Response Service (RRS) workflow. If you received a notification letter from the NPDB, use the information from the letter to complete the Account Information form.
