When ID.me sends a confirmation email
You may receive an email confirmation when you:
- Create your account
- Add a new email address to your account
- Reset your password
- Reset your multi-factor authentication (MFA) method
How to confirm your email
- Go to your email inbox and find the confirmation email from hello@id.me.
- In the confirmation email, select Confirm your email.
- After confirming your email, follow the prompts on the screen.
Troubleshoot email confirmation problems
Confirmation button or code doesn’t work
- Check your spam and junk folder.
- Add ID.me to contacts: Add hello@id.me to your email contacts to ensure future emails are delivered.

Resend confirmation email:
- If the “Confirm Your Email Address” window is still open, select Resend my verification.
- If not, sign in again to resend the email.
- Enter the email confirmation code: If the confirmation button doesn’t work, copy the 6-digit code from the email and enter it on the “Confirm Your Email Address” screen.
- Troubleshoot your browser: Clear cache and cookies, update your browser, or try a different one.
Confirmation email or link expired

Too many confirmation emails
If you’ve requested multiple confirmation emails:
- Wait 5 minutes between requests.
- Use the latest email: Delete older messages and only click the most recent confirmation link.
Wrong or misspelled email address
If you entered your email address incorrectly, you won’t receive the confirmation email. Start over and enter the correct email address carefully.
