ID.me requires each user to confirm their email address using a unique code before being allowed to access military, student, teacher, first responder, or government offers. Confirming your email address certifies that you are the owner of the email address you provided during the sign-up process.
You will need to create an ID.me account using an email address that you have immediate access to. Otherwise, you will not be able to complete the confirmation process nor will you be able to access an ID.me offer.
You can confirm your email address using one of two ways:
1) Enter a confirmation code sent to your email address
After registering with ID.me, you will see the following screen:
Keep this window open.
In a different window or new tab in your browser, check your email inbox and spam folders for an email from firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject "Your ID.me account confirmation code." Open the email and copy the confirmation code inside.
Return to the ID.me window or tab and paste the code into the box provided. Click "Submit."
After successfully confirming your email address, you will be prompted to verify your credentials.
2) Click a link in your ID.me welcome email
If you are having trouble confirming your account or you don't receive the confirmation code, your email address can also be confirmed by clicking button in your ID.me welcome email.
Check your inbox and spam folders for an email with the subject, "Welcome to ID.me.”
Open the email and click the "Confirm Your Email" button.
