California’s unemployment program provides short-term benefit payments to eligible workers. If you’re applying for unemployment benefits online, you need to verify your identity using ID.me. This ensures you—and only you—will be able to access your benefits. ID.me’s role in this is only for identity verification. ID.me does not approve unemployment claims or distribute payments to claimants.
