FloridaCommerce works with ID.me to create a highly secure identity verification process that ensures you—and only you—will be able to access your benefits. ID.me does not approve unemployment claims or distribute funds to claimants. This article explains how to verify your identity for FloridaCommerce.
Sign in to FloridaCommerce
If you already have an ID.me account, sign in to your account:
- Go to FloridaJobs.org and select File a New Claim or RECONNECT.
- If you’ve never filed for unemployment, select Apply.
- If you already have a FloridaCommerce account, select Login.
- Log in to your FloridaCommerce account or create a new one, then follow the prompts.
- When prompted, select the ID.me button.
- Enter your email address and password, then select Sign in.
- If required, follow the prompts to provide any additional information.
- From the Authorize screen, review the information that FloridaCommerce will receive and then select Allow to consent to share that information with them. Otherwise, follow the prompts to verify your identity.

Verify for FloridaCommerce
If you’ve never had an ID.me account, you’ll create an account before verifying your identity. After you create your account, you’ll choose how to verify:
- Self–Service: Upload your identity documents and a video selfie. This self-directed process usually takes 5-10 minutes and guides you through each step on your screen. For step-by-step instructions, visit Verifying your identity with Self-Service.
- Video Call: Upload your identity documents, enter your personal information, then join an ID.me Video Chat Agent on a video call. The agent will compare you to the document you uploaded. For step-by-step instructions, visit Verifying with a short video call.
After you verify
After you verify with your ID.me account:
- Return to the Florida Reemployment Assistance Portal.
- Log in to your RECONNECT account.
- Enter your ID.me sign-in information.
- Follow the steps for the Florida Reemployment Assistance Portal, then select Allow to allow FloridaCommerce to use your verified identity information.
Troubleshoot FloridaCommerce
“This ID.me account has been used to verify another account” error
After you verify your identity using ID.me and share your information with FloridaCommerce, you may see this error: “This ID.me account has been used to verify another account.”
This error message is from FloridaCommerce, indicating that you have more than one account. It’s not possible for ID.me to fix this issue. Since the error is coming from FloridaCommerce, you must send them an email or call 1-833-352-7759 for next steps.
I am locked out of my FloridaCommerce account
If you have successfully verified your identity through ID.me but still have an error message regarding your claim, visit Unlocking your FloridaCommerce account.
