Log in to U.S. Treasury using ID.me

To access U.S. Treasury services online, you’ll need to sign in or verify your identity through ID.me. This article shows you how to log in, complete identity verification, and troubleshoot common issues when accessing benefits or Treasury applications.

Sign in to Treasury with ID.me

If you already have an ID.me account, sign in to your account:

Go to the Treasury application you’d like to use and select Verify with ID.me.
Follow the prompts to sign in to your ID.me account.
If required, follow the prompts to provide any additional information.
From the Authorize screen, review the information that the Treasury will receive and then select Allow to consent to share that information with them. Otherwise, follow the prompts to verify your identity.

Verify your identity for Treasury with ID.me

If you’ve never had an ID.me account, you’ll create an account before verifying your identity using Self-Service. You may be asked to take a video selfie depending on the Treasury application you're trying to access.

Note: If you live outside of the United States and have a Social Security number, learn how to verify your identity. If you don’t have an SSN, visit Verifying with ITIN or Verifying with a non-US passport.

After you verify

If you verified over a video call with a Video Chat Agent, follow these instructions to continue your application process:

Go to the Treasury application you are trying to access.
Sign in with your ID.me account with your email address and password.
Select Allow to share your identity information with the Department of Treasury.

You can now login to your ID.me account to view which organizations you have verified your identity for at any time.
