You may have created your ID.me account using an email address you no longer have access to. Even if you lost access to the email, you might still be able to sign in if you remember your password. This article explains how to try signing in again.
To try and sign in:
- Go to the ID.me sign-in page.
- Enter your account email address
Enter the email address associated with your account, even if you don’t have access to it.
- Enter your password
Enter any passwords you commonly use. If your password doesn’t work, you’ll need to work with an ID.me agent to recover your account.
- Complete multi-factor authentication (MFA)
Follow the prompts to complete MFA. If you changed your phone number or got a new device, you will need to reset your MFA method. Visit Resetting your MFA for step-by-step instructions.
I forgot my password or can’t reset my MFA
If you still can’t access your account because you forgot your password or can’t reset your MFA, follow these steps to contact the Account Recovery Team. Start by submitting a support ticket:
- Visit the ID.me Contact Support page.
- Select Submit a ticket without signing in.
- From the "Select your issue" drop-down menu, select the issue you’re having. If prompted, select additional drop-downs to tell us more about your issue.
- Select Submit.
After you contact Support
When an ID.me agent replies to you by email, follow their instructions to confirm ownership of your account. You will either need to upload a document or join a video call depending on the type of verification you have on your account.
