Some companies require identity verification through ID.me as part of their Acrobat Sign experience. This article explains some of the steps you may take to verify your identity.
1. Get started
Start by opening the email request you received, and select Verify with ID.me.
2. Sign in to ID.me
If you have an ID.me account, sign in using your email address and password. To create a new ID.me account:
- Select Create an ID.me account.
- Enter your email address and password, then select Create account.
- Confirm your email address. For more information, visit Confirming your email address.
- Set up multi-factor authentication (MFA) to make your account even more secure. ID.me recommends setting up more than one MFA method so that you can always access your account.
3. Verify your identity
After you’re signed in to your ID.me account, you will be asked to verify your identity. To verify your identity:
- Follow the prompts to upload your US driver’s license or state ID, or select Change Document to upload a passport or passport card. Learn how to take photos of your documents.
- Take and submit a video selfie. Your selfie will only be used to confirm that the person in the selfie matches your government ID.
- Enter your Social Security number.
- Review and confirm that all of your information is accurate, then select Yes. After ID.me verifies your identity you will receive a confirmation message as a way to protect you from fraud.
If you have trouble verifying your identity with Self-Service, you may need to verify by uploading additional documents and joining a video call.
After you verify
To complete the process, you must consent to share your information with Adobe:
- Self-Service: Review the information that Adobe will receive and then select Allow to consent to share that information with Adobe.
- Video Call: Go back to where you originally accessed the Adobe form and sign in using your ID.me account, review the information that Adobe will receive and then select Allow to consent to share that information with them.
After ID.me verifies your identity, you will receive a confirmation text message.
