  3. Sign in to your existing IDMe Wallet or create one.

Tip: If you need to verify your identity, visit IRS and IDMe.
  4. Complete multi-factor authentication (MFA) or add MFA to protect your wallet.
  5. Consent to share your information with IRIS.
Note: If you are using IDMe for work, follow the steps in add a work or business email to your IDMe Wallet to make sure you have both a work and personal email.

IRIS TCC application steps

After you sign in to your IDMe Wallet and verify your identity, you can apply for a TCC. Before applying, review the IRIS App Tutorial, which provides step-by-step instructions for applying for an IRIS TCC.

Common issues when applying for a TCC

  • Verify all Authorized Users listed on the application have an IDMe Wallet before you sign the application. If you don't, you will receive an error message: “All users must register with e-Services before your application can be submitted” when an unregistered user exists. It may take up to 72 hours for a new wallet to be recognized by the application.
  • On the ‘Select Your Organization’ page, select the ‘Individual’ option each time the application is accessed until the application is in ‘Completed’ status.
  • Monitor the ‘TCC Information’ section on the ‘Application Summary’ page for TCC assignment.
  • Wait for the application to be in ‘Completed’ status before making updates. Editing the application when it is in ‘Signature Required’ status, in some cases, will lock the application.
  • Update your ‘Application Details’ page if you discover you selected the wrong role or transmission method (Issuer vs. Transmitter or Portal vs. A2A). Do not submit a request for an additional TCC on the 'Application Summary’ page.
