You cannot share your ID.me account with another person, including spouses or family members. Account conflicts often happen when multiple people in the same household share a device. If account sharing is detected, your account may be locked or suspended until the issue is resolved.
Tips to avoid account confusion
To prevent confusion between your account and someone else's:
- Keep your credentials private: Always protect your email and password when signing in. Follow our tips for keeping your account secure.
- Create unique accounts for each household member: If other members of your household need to verify their identity, they should create their own ID.me account using their personal email address. An email address can only be linked to one ID.me account.
- Disable "Remember Me" on shared devices: If you share a computer or device with others, disable any "Remember Me" options in your browser to avoid automatic sign-ins with the wrong account.
