Some organizations require you to verify your identity with ID.me before signing documents through Adobe or DocuSign. This article shows how to complete identity verification and sign electronic or digital documents securely.

1. Get started

Open the email from the organization, and select the link to verify with ID.me or review the document.

2. Share your information or verify your identity

1. Sign in or create an ID.me account
   • If you already have an account, sign in.
   • If you've never used ID.me, create an account.
2. Complete multi-factor authentication (MFA)
   • If you’re setting up MFA for the first time, you may need to use the ID.me Authenticator app.
   • If you have trouble, reset your MFA.
3. Add your work email to your account (if required)
   • Some organizations require your work email to be on your account before verifying and signing. If you’re not sure, contact the organization you’re verifying for.
   • Add your email, set it as the primary email on your account if required, then return to complete the document signing process.
4. Follow the prompts, if required, to provide any additional information or verify your identity.
5. From the Authorize screen, review the information that the organization will receive and then select Allow to consent to share your information.

3. Sign your digital document after ID.me verification

1. Return to the email you received containing the eSignature document and select the link in the email.
2. Sign in to your ID.me account.

3. Follow the prompts to sign your document.

   Note: If your eSignature document has expired, contact the organization for assistance and next steps.
