The Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) works with ID.me to verify your identity to access your AHCCCS Online portal as a healthcare worker. This article explains how to update or create your ID.me account and verify your identity for AHCCCS.
Before you begin
- AHCCCS requires that your work email address be on your ID.me account and that your last name matches on both accounts.
- Add your work email before you share your information with AHCCCS
- Make sure the name on your ID.me profile is correct and matches your current legal name. If you've legally changed your name, update your name on your ID.me account.
- To create an AHCCCS account that matches your verified identity, register for a new AHCCCS online account or contact the AHCCCS Support Center.
Already have an ID.me account?
If you already have an ID.me account:
- Sign in to your ID.me account.
- Add your work email address to your account.
- Go to the AHCCCS Online Portal and login with your AHCCCS credentials.
If you don’t have AHCCCS credentials, register for a new account. - Select Verify with ID.me, then sign in with your ID.me account and complete multi-factor authentication (MFA).
- Follow the prompts to provide any additional information, if required.
- From the Authorize screen, review the information that AHCCCS will receive, then select Allow to consent to share your information with them.
Creating an ID.me account for the first time?
- Go to ID.me and select Create an ID.me account.
- Follow the prompts to create your account.
- Add your work email address to your account.
Verify your identity for AHCCCS
- Go to the AHCCCS Online Portal and login with your AHCCCS credentials.
If you don’t have AHCCCS credentials, register for a new account. - Select Verify with ID.me and sign in to your ID.me account.
- Complete multi-factor authentication (MFA) or add MFA to protect your account.
- Verify your identity:

- Share your information with AHCCCS:
- Self-Service: From the Authorize screen, review the information that AHCCCS will receive, then select Allow to consent to share your information with them.
