If you get locked out of your ID.me account after too many failed sign-in attempts, you'll see a message that says “Your account has been locked.” This article explains how to unlock your ID.me account, including how to request a new unlock email and what to do if the link expires.
Steps to unlock your account

Select the link in the error message
In the “Your account has been locked” message, select the here link. -
Enter your account email
On the “Unlock your ID.me Account” screen, enter the email address on your ID.me account, then select Continue. -
Check your email
Look for an email from ID.me. If you don’t see it, check your spam or junk folder.Note: The unlock link expires after 15 minutes. If it does, return to the screen and request a new one. -
Confirm and unlock your account
In the email, select Unlock your account, then confirm your email address. Your account will be unlocked. If you forgot your password, reset it.
