Save time by signing in with a social, government, or other third-party account linked to your ID.me account. You can add these options when creating your account or to an existing account. This article explains how to add, use, or remove third-party sign-in options.

Sign in using a connected third-party account
To sign in using a third-party account:
- Go to the ID.me sign-in page.
- Select the icon for the third-party account (Apple, Google, etc) or select View options for more options.
- Follow the prompts to enter your information and complete sign-in.
Connect third-party accounts to an existing ID.me account
To add a third-party account to your existing ID.me account:
- Sign in to your ID.me account.
- In the “My Logins” section, select Manage Logins.
- Choose the third-party icon you want to connect.
- Follow the prompts. You will receive an email confirmation once the account is connected.
Connect third-party accounts during account creation
To link a third-party account while creating your ID.me account:
- Go to the ID.me sign-in page and select Create an ID.me account.
- Select a third-party icon, or select View more options to see all available options.
- Follow the prompts to enter your credentials and connect your account(s). You will receive a confirmation email once the accounts are connected.
Remove a third-party account
If you no longer want to sign in using a third-party account:
- Sign in to your ID.me account.
- In the “My Logins” section, select Manage Logins.
- Find the third-party account you want to disconnect, then select Remove.
- Confirm removal by selecting Delete.

I can’t access my third-party account
Try signing in following instructions from the third-party account that you connected. You may need to contact their support team.
Enter your email and password
Instead of using the third-party sign-in, on the ID.me sign-in page, enter the email address and password for your ID.me account. If you forgot your password, visit Resetting your ID.me password.
