Verify your identity with IDMe in Spanish or other languages

Need to verify your identity in Spanish or another language? IDMe supports verification in languages other than English for both Self-Service and video calls. This article explains how to switch languages and get support if English isn’t your preferred language.

Note: The languages you can choose from vary, depending on the organization you need to access using IDMe.

How to change the language for Self-Service verification

To change the language you use for verification:

  1. Go to the website for the organization you need to access using IDMe.
  2. Find and select the IDMe button.
  3. At the bottom of the sign-in or create an IDMe Wallet screen, select English, then select the language you’d like to use.

  4. Sign in to your existing wallet or create one, then then follow the prompts to verify your identity.

How to get language support for your IDMe video call

IDMe supports video calls in over 240 languages. If you’re unable to complete your video call in English, there are a few options to verify your identity with a Video Chat Agent:

Option 1: Request a Video Chat Agent in your language

If you prefer to verify in a language other than English, let the Video Chat Agent know.

We may bring in a third-party interpreter to assist you, or transfer you to another agent who speaks your language.

If you're transferred, your current video call will end, and you’ll be placed in a new line to wait for the next available agent. To join the line, return to the previous browser tab you had open.

Option 2: Use an In-Person Translator

You can also choose to have an in-person translator assist you during the video call. To learn more about who can help you during a video call, visit How helpers and interpreters can support you during a video call.
